Wild, weird, and overflowing in rich ideas, The Bone Temple is a deliciously nasty soliloquy of birth, death, and resurrection that begins like some tragically austere Puccini operetta only to climax with death metal majesty like it’s the most raucous Iron Maiden concert ever staged.

Boyle and Garland refuse to play it safe and, by doing so, make 28 Years Later an essential piece of horror social commentary. This is one of the year’s best films.

Make no mistake, 28 Days Later… isn’t just one of the best films of this year, it’s one of the best I’ve had the good fortune to see this young millennium.
