Brick Mansions (2014)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 25th, 2014 - Movie ReviewsThis isn’t a great movie. I’m not even sure it’s a good one. But I can’t say I was entertained, and as inane as this remake might be the fact it’s an action effort that returns to basics and eschews computer-augmented bits of trickery for old school rock’em sock’em fists-a-flying fireworks is a major plus as far as I’m concerned.

Bears (2014)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 18th, 2014 - Movie ReviewsBears isn’t a bad film, far from it, and do think parents should show it to their children (and hopefully watch it with them). I’m just not sure if it is worthwhile for them to head out to the multiplex to view it instead of waiting for the movie to hit DVD and Blu-ray.

Transcendence (2014)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 18th, 2014 - Movie ReviewsThat Transcendence doesn’t ultimately work is decidedly a problem but that doesn’t make the experience of watching it any less riveting, and as failures go this is arguably one I’ll be thinking about and pondering for many months to come.

Delivery Man (2013)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 17th, 2014 - Blu-ray and DVDIt took me three viewings to watch ‘Delivery Man’ the second time, not because I found the attempt a execrable experience but more because I kept falling asleep. That says it all, right?

“Cuban Fury” – Interview with Nick Frost
by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 11th, 2014 - InterviewsNick Frost Dances His Way to Redemption in ‘Cuban Fury’. Sprung forth from an idea that had been lingering on the forefront of actor Nick Frost’s brain for some time, ‘Cuban Fury’ is a Salsa-fueled romantic comedy that’s one part Strictly Ballroom, another part Rocky and final part Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Cuban Fury (2014)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 11th, 2014 - Movie ReviewsCuban Fury is so darn likeable, so amazingly jovial and, best of all, so gosh darn funny, the over-familiarity of it all doesn’t end up being as gigantic a problem.

Draft Day (2014)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 11th, 2014 - Movie ReviewsA facile, trite, forced and false piece of Hollywood hokum that’s about as authentic as a Spam sandwich smothered in Velveeta cheese.

Oculus (2014)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 11th, 2014 - Movie ReviewsYou have to be willing to accept the fact that Oculus revolves around the conceit of a haunted mirror. Once you do that, if you can allow yourself to go there, what proceeds is a surprisingly effective, shockingly intelligent thriller about self, identity and sanity that burrows its way under the skin.

The Raid 2 (2014)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 11th, 2014 - Movie ReviewsFunny thing is, even with so much more going on, even with so many pieces vying for attention, The Raid 2 is every bit as relentless as its predecessor, Evans staging scene after scene of epic action fireworks overflowing in imagination and enthusiasm.
