Shadow in the Cloud (2020)

Shadow in the Cloud was a surprisingly enjoyable flight of monstrous fancy that helped me start the year off with a happy smile.

The Dark and the Wicked (2020) (Blu-ray)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - December 22nd, 2020 - Blu-ray and DVD

The Dark and the Wicked isn’t a piece of light and fluffy horror entertainment. There are no rainbows here, Bryan Bertino’s latest more than living up to its title as being both agonizingly dark and paralyzingly wicked.

The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020) (Blu-ray)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - December 15th, 2020 - Blu-ray and DVD

The Wolf of Snow Hollow has continued to grow on me. I had a marvelous time revisiting the film on Blu-ray, Jim Cummings’ small snowy town character study masquerading as a supernatural horror movie bringing a great big smile to my face.

Freaky (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - November 11th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

Freaky is an imaginative body-swap horror-comedy where thrills and chills relax comfortably alongside giggles and guffaws with intoxicating grace.

Come Play (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - October 29th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

Come Play ends up being a fun, frequently tense little genre shocker that’s also a sublime calling card for Chase that has me excited to see what he’ll get up to next.

The Craft: Legacy (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - October 29th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

I enjoyed what Lister-Jones accomplishes with The Craft: Legacy even if not everything she conjures up successfully manifests. There’s magic being performed by this quartet of young witches, and here’s my hope that the target audience is there to bear witness.

His House (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - October 29th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

His House is something special, the line between forgiveness and punishment an ethereal enigma that’s as haunting as it is imperceptible.

12 Hour Shift (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - October 16th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

12 Hour Shift is an agreeably nasty workplace satire overflowing in whimsical moments, grotesque twists of fate and unforeseen emotional nuances that both tickled my funny bone and gave me a thing or two to think about in greater detail.
