Somewhere is a hypnotic series of brief vignettes of a father trying to decide who he is and what the next step to being a better human being is, all of this seen through the eyes of a youngster wise beyond her years.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - June 18th, 2010 - Four-Star Corner Movie Reviews

Toy Story 3 a Timeless Adventure I think we’ve all had that one toy we can never forget. For me, it was a stuffed bear unoriginally named “Teddy.” I adored the teeny-weeny bundle of brown fluff, and even though as the years went by he came to be missing an eye and was sporting more […]

Pierrot Le Fou (1965) – Criterion Collection

by Sara Michelle Fetters - September 22nd, 2009 - Blu-ray and DVD

Pierrot le Fou is frustrating and annoying, yes, but it is also spectacular and thought-provoking and features a spellbinding performance from Anna Karina.

Bad Education (2004)

Bad Education is a brazen, ambisexual noir that embraces the conventions of the genre while at the same time shattering them with explicit wickedness.

Mean Girls (2004)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - April 30th, 2004 - Movie Reviews

But with Mean Girls Waters and Fey do what they can to show scrubbing off one’s humanity for a mechanical glassy-eyed façade is something that should be avoided. In the end, life in plastic just isn’t worth the effort.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - March 19th, 2004 - Four-Star Corner Movie Reviews

It’s a beautiful screenplay overflowing with moments of such sudden, tight-fisted insanity that frequently knocked my socks off, all of its coupled with a poignant purity that’s beyond terrific. As early-year movies go, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind isn’t just a surprise, it’s a bona fide cinematic miracle I’m not ever going to forget.
