Valley Girl (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - May 8th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

I found Valley Girl, like, totally disappointing, an unexpected turn of events that’s grody to the max, for sure.

Trolls World Tour (2020)

Trolls World Tour rarely allowed me to catch my breath. It even more seldomly put anything that was happening into coherent perspective.

Greed (2019)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - March 6th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

The drama, comedy, satire and commentary don’t merge into anything meaningful, Greed a stiflingly discombobulated letdown that can’t pay its entertainment bills without going into the red.

Onward (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - March 5th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

It’s all a bunch of colorfully anarchic, emotionally uplifting heartfelt supernatural silliness, all of which helps make Pixar’s latest comedic adventure Onward a goofy good time I’d be excited to see again.

“Olympic Dreams” – Interview with Jeremy Teicher

by Sara Michelle Fetters - March 4th, 2020 - Interviews

“Sometimes it was overwhelming in all the best of ways. There was just so much possibility. When you’re just in the zone and in there with your camera, you have to take the opportunity to trust your eye as a filmmaker.”
– Olympic Dreams director Jeremy Teicher

Downhill (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - February 14th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

I cannot get angry or feel let down by what Downhill is not (most obviously that it isn’t as deep or as profound as Force Majeure was). I can only judge the film for what it actually is, and on that front I think Faxon and Rash have done a reasonably nice job.

Olympic Dreams (2019)

The first narrative feature to be allowed to shoot inside the Olympic Athletes Village, Olympic Dreams is a strong, emotionally-pure indie drama that took my breath away.

Birds of Prey (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - February 6th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

Harley Quinn’s emancipation and the birth of a new group of female crimefighters is one I happily stand to applaud, and if this ragtag group’s adventures continue in the future trust I’ll be first in line to witness them firsthand.

The Gentlemen (2019)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - January 24th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

The Gentlemen races towards an inventive conclusion that brought a smile to my face and sent me out of the theatre with a skip in my step. Ritchie returns to his Brit crime caper roots with thrilling aplomb.
