Robot & Frank (2012)

While Robot & Frank doesn’t exactly go anyplace all that unexpected, how Schreier handles the material and the emotions he brought out of me certainly were.

Sleepwalk with Me (2012)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - August 31st, 2012 - Film Festivals Movie Reviews

Sleepwalk with Me made me laugh, and as far as comedies are concerned that’s one attribute worthy of celebration no matter how nightmarish the ordeal the main character is going through might prove to be.

Compliance (2012)

It’s bravura filmmaking, and without question Compliance is one of the finest features I’ll likely see in all of 2012.

Cosmopolis (2012)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - August 17th, 2012 - Movie Reviews

Cosmopolis may be a mess, but it’s still something of a glorious one, and for those willing to take the ride they’ll have ridden shotgun in a journey they’re unlikely to forget anytime soon.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green (2012)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - August 15th, 2012 - Movie Reviews

There is magic happening here, maybe just enough to make The Odd Life of Timothy Green a motion picture I’ll revisit in the future and think even better of the second time around.

Farewell, My Queen presents a side of the French Revolution I’ve never thought to ponder, this look behind the gates of Versailles oftentimes fascinating.

You get what you pay for with Step Up Revolution, and if one is willing to purchase a ticket, probably in 3D, chances are they won’t be disappointed.

Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - July 4th, 2012 - Film Festivals Movie Reviews

There is no closure to Beasts of the Southern Wild, nothing to hold on to that I felt was satisfying. I love the fire and the passion it must have taken for Zeitlin and Alibar to bring the film to life, but that wasn’t enough as far as I was concerned.
