Suicide Squad (2016)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - August 3rd, 2016 - Movie ReviewsBut the studio’s continued mishandling of these characters is just plain baffling at this point, Suicide Squad potentially even more of a disaster than Batman v Superman ended up proving to be. While that’s not entirely accurate, that doesn’t mean the movie is safe from condemnation, and as misfires go this is one comic book debacle Warner Bros and DC are going to have a hell of a time trying to recover from.

Bad Moms (2016)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - July 29th, 2016 - Movie ReviewsI can’t help but feel like Bad Moms could have worked, that the seeds lurking in the heart of Lucas and Moore’s script aren’t nearly as rotten as I’m probably making them out to be. I just don’t think the pair had the ability or the desire to invest themselves as fully into the plights, concerns and lives of the characters that they had created, more interested in delivering Hangover-style yucks inside a female-driven scenario.

Jason Bourne (2016)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - July 28th, 2016 - Movie ReviewsBut the longer I think on Jason Bourne the more it starts to upset me.

Nerve (2016)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - July 27th, 2016 - Movie ReviewsAs nice as certain components might be, as solid as the performances universally are, Nerve simply doesn’t work, making it just another cinematic missed opportunity residing in a summertime multiplex already overflowing in them.

Bad Moon (1996)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - July 25th, 2016 - Blu-ray and DVDBad Moon is much better than the rep unfairly gifted to it back in ’96. More, it offers up some truly excellent creature and makeup effects…It also moves with refreshing swiftness, Red keeping things at a wondrously exuberant clip, the picture’s niftily plotted 79 minutes flying by in the blink of an eye.

Road Games (2015)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - July 24th, 2016 - Blu-ray and DVDRoad Games is quickly moving up my list of 2016 sensations that caught me by surprise, this fun little thriller a nice game of cat and mouse that nimbly conceals its biggest and boldest tricks for the final act.

Rabid Dogs (2015)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - July 24th, 2016 - Blu-ray and DVDRabid Dogs is not as good as Mario Bava’s original film, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still worthwhile. In fact, having now watched it twice I’m ready to concede Éric Hannezo’s version holds up pretty darn well, filled with a number of white-knuckle charms that had me sitting on the edge of my seat.

The Pack (2015)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - July 24th, 2016 - Blu-ray and DVDYep. Still a lot of fun, that’s The Pack in a nutshell. Perfect? No. Freakishly enjoyable for those who like animals-gone-wild creature features? You bet, and as such I’ll likely be barking about this film’s simple pleasures for some time to come.

Cabin Fever (2016)
by Sara Michelle Fetters - July 24th, 2016 - Blu-ray and DVDCabin Fever has no reason to exist. It’s a pointless scene-for-scene, line-for-line remake that does nothing to improve upon Eli Roth’s original. It’s a waste of time, nothing more, and as superb as Scream! Factory’s Blu-ray presentation might be I can’t think of a single solitary reason anyone, anywhere should take the time to give it a look.
