VFW (2019)

VFW is a cracking thriller, its pulse-pounding theatrics making this an agreeably bruising good time I loved every single gosh darn blood-soaked second of.

Downhill (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - February 14th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

I cannot get angry or feel let down by what Downhill is not (most obviously that it isn’t as deep or as profound as Force Majeure was). I can only judge the film for what it actually is, and on that front I think Faxon and Rash have done a reasonably nice job.

Olympic Dreams (2019)

The first narrative feature to be allowed to shoot inside the Olympic Athletes Village, Olympic Dreams is a strong, emotionally-pure indie drama that took my breath away.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - February 14th, 2020 - Four-Star Corner Movie Reviews

Portrait of a Lady on Fire is more than a historical romance. It is more than a feminist drama drawing a metaphorical line from the distant past to the here and now.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)

While Sonic the Hedgehog didn’t win me over, I sure as heck was never so annoyed that I regretted giving the film a look.

Shutter Island (2010) (4K Ultra HD)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - February 11th, 2020 - 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and DVD

The 4K Ultra HD release of Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island is magnificent. The film has never looked or sounded better. I just wish I enjoyed watching it more.

Birds of Prey (2020)

by Sara Michelle Fetters - February 6th, 2020 - Movie Reviews

Harley Quinn’s emancipation and the birth of a new group of female crimefighters is one I happily stand to applaud, and if this ragtag group’s adventures continue in the future trust I’ll be first in line to witness them firsthand.
